Affinity groups are different from support groups as they are less about support and more about gathering for a shared interest. While this would be within the RAINS Community Center and for those who identify as part of the Rainbow (LGBTQ+) Community, it is also open to allies.
If you have an idea for a group, let us know! There are no bad ideas. If you have an interest and you think others might want to hang out and discuss, plan activities, outings, etc. around that particular interest then an affinity group is a great way to get people together. Some examples of affinity groups are Anime, Art, Hiking, Baking, Book Club, Working Parents, etc.
We can provide the space and can potentially provide food and drink as well but the meetings will need to be planned ahead of time and coordinated with the RAINS Community Center’s schedule.
