Over the summer of 2021, we lost a member of our Rainbow Community. Jennifer Beiden passed away on July 14, 2021. She was known as a “free-form free spirit” who was passionate about Punk Rock and was truly a product of her vast collection of life experiences. Jennifer’s friends and family say that although she struggled throughout her life, she always remained optimistic. She chose to see her hardships as a way to connect her to the rest of humanity. Jennifer was a caring, compassionate and generous member of her community and was a beloved member of the Longview Presbyterian Church.
With the support of Jennifer’s family, fellow church member and friend, Hollie Kero, sold some of Jennifer’s belongings to raise money for a donation to RAINS. Longview Presbyterian Church matched the amount raised and together, they were able to donate a total of $600 in Jennifer’s memory. Jennifer’s sister, Heather, also raised funds through a GoFundMe campaign that totaled $250 which was also donated to RAINS.
RAINS is proud to honor Jennifer by using this $850 donation to launch the Transitional Support Services which will benefit local community members needing gender-affirming services.
